Plaster crafts were big in the 60`s !!  You could buy the molds for $.98 and pour and paint your own !!  I think thats what these are !!

It seems reasonable enough for a karma point!

I believe if you search "Bosson Chalkware Heads" (made in England) you will see one of your heads!  They made all kinds of these in England.  Some heads bring a higher price than others!

Not saying yours are original (can't tell from your pictures) but it seems they are like others.  Do believe your s have been repainted by owners.

I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

If these are knockoffs, it's hard to believe that anyone would copy something that's only worth about $10.00 or so to begin with. So: copies=$0.00. Genuine=maybe $10.00 more or less.

Not knockoffs !!  Back in the 60`s these and other things were hobby crafts !!  I did birds and horses but there were molds for many things !!  Even those plaster wall  plaques that show up here on occasion !!  Gold spray paint was a big seller back then !! Then a little stain on top and a light rub and instant antique !!  Or at least antique look !!

Ah, since these don't have impressed marks, I figured you meant that they must be knockoffs.

No,, they were never meant to deceive !!  Just meant to keep the housewife happy making something to decorate her home with !!   Remember not everyone could sew or crochet !!  Thats when there were housewives and homemakers !!

What are these "housewives" and "homemakers" of which you speak? The words roll strangely off my tongue.... ;)

It's a MYTH! like unicorns! We made a BIG mistake in the 18th century when we let women get off their stools and sit in chairs for the first time in history! Been goin downhill ever since! BAM!

Yes, we need to teach women to sit on their own stools!
