"I award you your first antique-shop.com karma applause point for that!"
Thanks!!!
Usually it seems to be what goes around comes around for me!!
"... take the little gray vase for instance !! Its going to bring maybe $4. or $5. no matter if you know who made it or not !! So slap a price on it and move on !!"
But, what if I find out later it's a 14th Century Ming dynasty vase?
I can't take that cha
I MUST research it.
I'm too OCD.
Haha
Don`t worry,, it isn`t !!
What I suggest is to get all the marked items done first !! Put all the unmarked more ordinary things in a box for later !!
And of the marked items,, don`t try to pin down the exact year or try to find an exact match !! Or try to find some "history" behind each one !! Rarely will there be one !! The history starts when it was purchased not when it was made !! And that is family history !!
And when you tag each item just put a short title to what it is, approx. year and the price !! Like the little lusterware bowl !! Put "1940`s luster ware fruit bowl, $8.50" No need to put made in Germany,, assuming your customers can read !! They will look at the back !!
Where are you located ?? In case you are close,, I have 5 boxes of stick on mailing labels I need to unload !! Perfect for what you are doing !!
