cup and saucer for a Hobbit
« on: September 16, 2016, 02:00:55 pm »
This is really tiny.
The saucer is 3.5" diameter and the
cup is only 2" H
No markings whatsoever.
The inside of the cup is glazed pink.
Both are in perfect cond.

My mother used to collect cups and saucers !!  Many ladies did back in the late 70`s and 80`s !!   A lot of them were made just for that purpose !! Just as something to sit on a shelf  !!  Dust catchers !!

This is pre 70s.
Maybe fro the 50's.

Any idea what it's worth, if anything?

Don`t guess it has a mark ?? Most did not !!  Could be earlier but the 70`s is when the hobby started going around !!

No mark at all.
Well, I'll slap a $5.00 sticker on it.

I would put a much higher price on it!

This would be a Flower Encrusted Miniature Teacup with saucer!  Take a look on the internet for that!

Looks English!  Betting this is from the 40's to 50's!  Don't know how you are selling it - but depending on who made it can range from $20 - $80 or more!!!

Can you please post a picture of the bottoms of cup and saucer?
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

YEOWSA!!!!!!

*furiously scrapes off $5 price tag

I knew it was from at least the 50s.
I remember seeing it in the house when I was just a wee bairn in the 60s.

I will definitely research this better.
THX!!!!
