kutani cat?

Hi....I did not see your question about the Kutani cat.  I know they come in many, many sizes. From about 1 inch to over 15 inches.  I would like the history of their use if anyone knows what it is.  I heard the women put the cat outside their bedroom doors "when the had a headache".  I wanted to know if that was true and if they put the big cat out that meant business and if they put the tiny cat out...the man still had a chance to vist the bed.  M

"Kutani" is really a term used to describe the style of manufacture.  Kutani porcelain was made in Japan after the mid-seventeenth century. Most of the pieces found today are nineteenth-century.
