Could be a local politician or clergy by the dress !! Pic and frame look mid to late 1800`s !!  Do you know where it came from ??

Hi mart , i picked up the picture maybe 3 years ago from a sale ,  it was just on the ground and i took it home, i loved the frame even in bad condition , i was making room in my studio and found it collecting dust , forgot i had it

Nice frame.

Most likely a individuals family picture!  You are more likely to find women and children's pictures than men.  So they most likely had a little more $$ than the average person from the early days.  Agree with others on time  - Late 1800's to very early 1900's.
