Help with Doll Vernon Seeley Mold
« on: January 01, 2017, 11:07:12 am »
Happy New Year Everyone,

I found this 27" doll at Goodwill. It's marked on neck Vernon Seeley 1976 "Ethyl" and a mold number A 14 J (???)  The problem I ran into during my research is, what is the doll made of?  I've research body types for similar jointed body dolls and feeling a little confused.  Could it be a leather body? or Could it be composition body.  She is extremely heavy and joints are connected with the elastic pull type things (???) See photo below.

I could not find a match for this particular doll when researching.  Any thoughts would help.  Thanks

BTW...the research stated that the leather bodies would almost always have a shoulder attached head.  But I still can not determine what she is made of.  The head is bisque or porcelain.

Yes,, It is  a composition body by Seeley !!  However other artists and individuals did many of the heads !!  As a reproduction it was probably a  good buy if not too  expensive !!
