Help finding someone to look at or buy
« on: January 23, 2017, 12:13:09 am »
Hi there, I have some antiques actually a lot I consider them higher end. And a lot from the late 1800's Inc complete glassware sets mint, records from 1903 like new some still in original pkg. Straight razor, tobacco pipe, too much to mention. I live in North East missouri. Wondering who a known buyer or collector may be in that area.

I am sure there are many on your area !!  Rauville lives in Missouri and I think Ghopper does too !!  They may know someone who is trustworthy !! One thing you need to keep in mind,, age and even high end items do not always mean worth !!  Many other things determine dollar value as well !!
Perhaps you can post one or two items per post here for an opinion !!

Good idea, Mart!

Due to the continuing antiques recession, all of the dealers I know about in northeast Missouri are gone. One of the best was in Palmyra, just north of Hannibal. I believe they're gone as well, but another dealer in the area might be able to get ahold of them. Very high end!

In the meantime, here's an auctioneer in Illinois, just east of St. Louis. Asselmeier and May. They hold monthly antiques auctions, and usually have good stuff:   amantiqueauctions@gmail.com

Also, try Quincy, Illinois.
