Yep, it's really pretty.
I'm discovering that my family loved pretty things, just didn't want to pay top dollar for it.
LOL!!!

It is Japanese Cloisonne, around 1900.

Mat,, I do not see the borders that would identify it as cloisonne !!  Looks like a simple paint treatment not enamel !!  Of course these pics do not enlarge much !!

Mart, I think I can see the wire, but of course some close ups and a picture of the bottom would help...

Bottoms up!! and a close-up.
It's not Cloisonne. It's painted enamel.

I'm tempted to fill the bottom with cement. It tips over so easily.
lol

Heavy rocks work just as well!  Or fill with lots of pocket change! 💰

I still see cloisonne on copper.

I'll be danged!!
I Googled images of cloisonne and then took another up-close look at my vase...
Cloisonne!!
I had always thought the copper wire was more pronounced for cloisonne.
This vase always looked like it's just outlined with gold paint to me.

So do you think it's pricey?
I can't imagine any of my grandparents spending much on anything, unless these were fairly common back in the day.

The bottom does look like copper !!  Some of the wires are very pronounced and some items are outlined with a gold paint to give the look of cloisonne !!  Can you feel the lines ??

Not at all.
It's very smooth, which is why I didn't think it was cloisonne.
Now I don't know what to think!!

My opinion is that its a look-a-like !!  You should be able to feel something if its a true cloisonne !!

That's what I thought.
Then I thought it had a heavy glaze of clear enamel to make it smooth.
Then I thought it was made to just look like cloisonne.
Then I thought why go through all that trouble for a knock-off.
Then I thought.......
lol
