Picture made w/tree bark & moss
« on: February 22, 2017, 02:49:35 pm »
I thought we had a really unique picture until I Googled it.
 :(
Seems these were mass produced.
The 1st picture on this web site is pretty much exactly like ours.
A similar one just sold on etsy for $29.99
Not nearly enough to make me part with it.

Nice! Never seen the bark pictures like this before!

I have a carved cork picture made like the one on the bottom that my folks brought back from a trip to Portugal in early 60's.
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

I kinda remember many years ago of having a picture similar to this one, .... made with feathers.

I once had and sold a pair of framed under glass hanging “dioramas”, from the Yukon, dating back to 1899. They were complete with hand carved animals, people, cabins, trees, mountains and streams. Each was signed and dated by the maker on the back, and contained  information as to where the scene was actually located. I thought they were pretty darn neat.

Sounds cool. You didn't take any photos before selling them, did you?

We did a few years back !! Not sure if you would call her a pet,, she just showed up here and I fed her the mice I caught in the barn !!  She decided it was easier here since she didn`t have to hunt for food and just stayed !!  She must have been an older roadrunner because I found her in the garage one day sitting down and she had died !! We had her about two years !!  She made a nest on my window sill and layed two eggs before  she died but with no male roadrunner they didn`t hatch !!  You could call her and she would come running !!  Wish I had another one !!

Too cool Mart - sorry she died.  We used to have several that lived just up the road and would regularly jump our fence....just to run across the property and hop the other side!  We would just love watching them.  Then....someone bought the property and leveled the trees/scrub brush and rarely see any anymore!  :(

The pic carved out of cork from Portugal is behind the items from Brazil!  :)

Great Roadrunner stories. I've only seen a couple of them, they occasionally come into southern Missouri. Impossible to forget!
