A friend of mine that deals in horse drawn sleighs and carriages say it is of  European or Scandinavian design. Contact Martins Auction Company in New Holland Pennsylvania. They will give you the exact value and tell him that Phil Stanton suggested you contact him.

I just so happened to have run across one of these recently on Craigslist. I checked and it is still listed: https://hickory.craigslist.org/atq/5991281117.html

They are asking $2600. Here is the text and a couple of photos:

I have seen a posting of the sleigh on Ebay for $6,000 but the horse was not with it, it is beautifully hand carved. The sleigh could have never been used as an actual sleigh for a child as this piece is extremely heavy, it was meant to be displayed as an exquisite piece of furniture, from my research it appears to be Bavarian, cash only, price is negotiable.

These are cool, but I keep thinking of Rauville's comment. With the prices they're asking, I can easily see these sleighs being manufactured in China, then "aged" by being dunked in a river for a week or two. That's why I wanted to know about the fasteners underneath....Phill ips head screws?

Yes agree absolutely. Looking at the one on Pinterest that is very distressed, it looks wrong to me.  There are no wear patterns in places where something would show wear. It's just random, all over the place. Something about the carving style on many of these also reminds me of the Indonesian or Mexican "carousel" horses that were never actually on carousels. This is really cool looking, but I kind of wonder if it is just a display piece that isn't very old, and is not something that Bavarian children ever really used?

OK look at this one on eBay. Enlarge the pictures below. There is an underside view showing the fasteners on the sled rails. Sure 'nuf, Phillips head screws. You nailed it Ghopper! Also check out the interior paint, it appears air brushed around the edges:

Hey James Crawford can you please give us an update on the sleigh?  Is it all wood or does it have plaster work on it?
Dimensions?

I agree they so resemble each other.  I know it is hard to determine "quality" by photos...and can't get an "in person" on either or actual side by side...so this will have to do:

JamesCrawford's sleigh has a larger standing area which is needed, appears to be a large workable sleigh and maybe it is just because the paint but the quality seems better than the one for sale that talesofthesevenseas posted.

All I know...is if it was near me (LOL in Texas LOL) and was a great price I would buy it!  My Hubby would have a fit...  I would put it under the patio next to the swimming pool!  It would be a great conversation piece and could put galvanized buckets/tubs in/around it for buffets!  Soooo much fun!

Yep Mart.  Got one and bet it is way more maintenance/work than a catfish pool! 😕  And don't get great food like catfish out of it!
