Chinese/Japanese Floral Jar with Gold Gilding
« on: April 21, 2017, 10:36:44 pm »
A turquoise/green lidded jar with pink/white floral design and gold gilding. Measures 8" tall x 5" wide.  Can anyone transcribe the Japanese writing on the bottom of the jar.  Also, any thoughts on this being an inexpensive import item for decoration - due to the "not for food" writing on the bottom and the 7-10 under the lid.  Thank you

Your jar is Chinese. As you said, it is just a decorative item. The mark reads "Fa Da Qing Qianlong Zhi" - "Imitate Great Qing Qianlong Period Made", and can be found on pieces decorated in Macao. Date would be 1970s-1980s...
