A stained old painting covered in dust when i found it. Paint loss on several areas, cracks and dirt  and a few holes in the canvas , i can barely make out the signature , hard to pick it up on camera the artist used a dark color on the lower right hand side , i think i possibly see maybe an e and an S and maybe an h or n, anyone familiar would be a great help , it was a find i was curious about 24x16

the back is heavily stained from age the wood frame has seen better days, the canvas it self has become brittle along the edges , thats all i can really say , thanks in advance

Can we see the back please !!  May sound gross but you can put saliva on a cotton swab to clean the area of the signature !!  Just work it in a circular motion till all the dirt is gone !!  That may brighten it up so we can see it !!

There is a glare over the name !!  I can see the 1925 date and that is consistant with how the stretcher is made !!

I ran the pic thru the "Picture Enhancer" which came with the Windows 10 .  As close as these old bloodshot eyes can tell five letters were shebe or sheba. But  I wouldn't bet money on it, because I couldn't find the 1925 that Mart mentioned.

Look at reply #3,, then click and enlarge it !!  You can see some light spots on the left,, just to the lower right of the light spots is the 1925 !!   Now I have cheaters on but I can see it and my eyes are not that good !!  Just look from a normal range,, not too close !!

Yes, I see what you are describing, looks like printing, I just can't get resolution fine enough to make letters out of it.  I'll keep working on it.

Don`t look at the painting,,look at the reply#3 pic,, right in the center !!  Its pretty clear even without enlarging !!
