I really don't have a lot of information. He had a factory in Dobromil which is about 20 miles from Przemysl, and a shop in Przemysl to sell his work. From what I gather they lived above his shop on one of the main streets in Przemysl. (I actually was able to get photos of the building. If I find them I can post them later). He was married to Bronia Sperling and had two sons with her. The elder became a Dr. and the younger, my grandfather, moved to Vienna, got married and probably started selling the porcelain there, but eventually grew into selling kitchen ware (stoves etc...). He had a showroom on one of the main avenues.
Max was born in a town not too far from Przemysl in what is now western Ukraine known as Sambor. This region changed hands many many times throughout history. At that time is was part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. It was historically also known as Galicia. His father, David, I was told was a doctor, but I've not been able to verify that through research. David was born in what is now eastern Ukraine, in a town called Brody.
I've learned a lot about extensions of the family, but not more about the porcelain and glass business. I'm hoping to visit the region to do more research in person.
One interesting anecdote is that Max's grandson, my father's cousin, also became a porcelain designer and manufacturer. His son, my second cousin, continues the tradition.
