Back in the 70’s when living in upstate NY …. I acquired a large Victorian style
cast iron yard pool or birdbath. And the only one I could find on Google Images that is remotely similar to the one I had is this one, to wit:
Now as best my memory serves me, the one I had was like 8 feet in diameter, probably 7/8 inches deep, with a slightly curved 6” wide decorative rim encircling the top edge and four (4) cast iron frogs perched evenly spaced around the rim.
It was an extremely heavy (700 to 1,000 lbs) and “tricky” to move, but I managed to get it moved to “my ponderosa” without incident, placed it in my yard and enjoyed it for a few years.
