DPRK Mark research
« on: October 02, 2017, 03:59:16 pm »
Hello.

I recently found this bowl in Charity Shop in country Queensland.  The only HIT I got when researching DPRK porcelain marks on Google was a 2014 Thread on this Forum posted by Liopieurodon Re: Majolica three set DPRK mark.  I could not open any photo files from associated replies.

Does anyone have information about this mark, please.   I hope my photos will open.

Cheers.

Zanah.

Basically your mark is an import mark,,DPRK  Democratic Republic of North Korea !!  All imports must be marked with country of origin !!  True for most countries !!  The crane or stork is simply decorative I think !!

Thanks, Mart.

I Never expected my 'find' to be anything special other than as novelty value being a product of North Korea.  Must say I was surprised at the almost complete absence of information concerning DPRK porcelain - thought there would have been at least one devotee who put their knowledge on the WWW.

And just to record a last observation about the actual mark - on my piece, it has a raised and rough texture.
