Italian Wine Decanter/Ash Tray 1960-1970 estimated - What is Hallmark?

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen,

I am in possession of an wine decanter/ashtray which I believe came from Italy.  Oh, and yes it is in the shape of a briar pipe.  The item measures(from the widest point):  9" X 7.5" X 4.5".  After searching a bit, I found similar combo pieces which were marked "Made in Italy", or Made in Italy under a hallmark (with a crown over a shield with laurel - all encompassed by a circle).  It appears most of these were made between 1960-1970. 

The one that I have has the previously mentioned hallmark and an "A" and "G" in white letters.  There is also something engraved that I'm having difficulty reading.  I've searched for the hallmark and came up with nothing, so I thought I would ask you.

I think if you check,, you will find that this is not a pottery mark but is a coat of arms !!  Could be a region in Italy,, have not looked yet !!

These were popular in the 60's to 70's.

I have seen the ones you are referring to that are Italian made which are similar in looks.  The bowl interiors are different.  Just a different maker.  That is a coat of arms in yours. 

Here is one like yours by Barsottini - missing the plastic mouthpiece part (apparently has a cork under to hide vino?)  It also has the original label from the wine maker on it!

Barsottini made many novel decanters (dueling pistols, figurines, etc.)  Most were imported by Banfi Product Corporation in New York.
