Antique Big Boy Brazier/National Cash Register Co Primitive Table

I've never came across a table like this one.I can't find anything on it.There's an old label that has,"Big Boy Brazier another label "National Cash Register Co. Dayton Ohio.Now I know they made cash registers and scales but never knew about tables.This one has some type of small table on top that spin around,underneath is what look like a large holder really strange looking.Anybody know what this is.Metal and wood.Could be a married primitive piece.Really neat.About 6FT long and 3FT High.

I'm not quite sure how to say this, but I think you have a BBQ grill placed in the middle of your table.

The grill grid can be viewed in your last photo.  Well it just so happens that Big Boy Manufacturing made a BBQ Brazier with hood and spit motor in the 50's.  I've attached a photo to show you an example.  I'm guessing that later someone covered it with a circular piece of wood to make it a Lazy-Susan.  Perhaps, for a work table...I don't know for sure.

One has to wonder if they prepared hibachi dinner on this table prior to the Lazy-Susan addition - ha!

From your photos, it also appears that the top of the legs are wood and the bottom are metal (like they were combined)  Is that correct?  And the table top appears to be wood on the surface....but, is it metal underneath?  And, is that the part where the National Cash Register Co, Made in Dayton, Ohio is located?

Correct! the table is wod,the top of the legs are wood,the bottom is metal,where national cash register is also metal.Someone told me to check under the lazy susan for a grill.

I have no earthly idea what this would be used for.  Wonder what they were thinking when they made this?

Thanks for the pic cogar.  I can understand a smoker (low fire with smoke) but not a grill that would be hot enough to start the table on fire.

Haven't seen a wooden mounted grill here in Texas -  have you Mart?
