« on: January 03, 2018, 02:24:05 pm »
We are missing a Two hole head hinge that swings the motor under the cabinet. I've all ready gone through all of the ebay pages on their website

You will probably have to find someone that is in the business of parting out old machines. I'm sure Montgomery-Ward used different manufacturers for their Brunswick line, so there may be other brand machines that would have matching hinges. Good luck.

You might try here: http://www.thriftyfarmgirl.com/sewing-machine-parts.html

Believe Brunswick was made by National Sewing Machine Company.  That search could help in finding a supplier as well.

This site could be a good place to try as well:  http://shop.sew-classic.com/

Sewing machine cabinets were made by different vendors via contract with the makers of the sewing machine. And the cabinet hardware was made by several other vendors.

There use to be a small plant, maybe 30/40 employees, near where I now live, and that is all they made for years n’ years, ……. sewing machine cabinets. When they closed the owner sold the remaining hardware ……. “by the pound”.

Here is the url for a Google Image search for “sewing machine cabinet hinges”, give it a look-see.

This is a treadle machine ??  Since the hinges were made by other companies and not by the same company that made the machine,,just look for the same hinge !!  As long as the hinge is the right size it should fit !!

The hings size/configuration does matter!

Maybe give this place a shot!  Never used them but have seem them referred to on some sewing sites.

I just looked at eBay completed sales, and see that a set of hinges that the OP is looking for sold (19.55) last week. Another set had sold earlier. So, they do show up at times.

Thats what I meant KC !!  But looking for a Brunswick brand hinge is useless !!  Just the same hinge !!

Totally agree Mart!  Sometimes people try and buy ones that "sorta' resemble" theirs and are very disappointed!  They need to be patient and wait for the right one!  :)  (Off soap box!)  LOLOL

I agree because I see many two hole hinges only to see that the two hole plate appears to be 1/8 to 3/16th thick and mine is only 1/8. Thanks for the tip.

Ask the seller to check the plate thickness before you buy !!  Many times they will use another similar description without checking the size before listing !!  This happens frequently when listing several types of the same thing !!  I made that mistake once !!
