Very pretty jars but out of my league !!  Help please !!

Hi, these are Satsuma jars with raised enamel decoration. You can see in the pictures that it is not Imari porcelain, but earthenware with a cream colored crackle glaze, which is typical for Satsuma. They were likely made in Kyoto-Awata. I would date them to around late Meiji, around 1910. The marks in the lids are most likely not a maker's mark. I cannot read all of it, but I see tha Kanji for left and right and numerals. Those markings can be found often on such pieces and are related to the production process (marks of the decorators)...

Thanks mat !!  I debated ion satsuma or imari and evidently chose the wrong one!!  There were so many similar that it was hard to tell. And I am not used to this phone so guessing a lot. Gotta get a battery for computer wireless.

Yeah, that type of enamelled decoration is called moriage and usually less attractive / valuable than the Satsuma vases designed by Kinkozan and the like.
