Pie Safe with glass doors

I posted earlier about helping an older lady sell some of her furniture. I posted a vanity she had given me, but she also gave me a few other items. One is this pie safe with glass doors versus wire. I know the wire may have been changed out for glass...not sure. Anyways, posting some pics. The label on the back is torn, so I can't read it and there is another label under it that I can't read either. Any info? Thanks.

The finish and style do not say pie safe to me.  Looks more of a bookcase or china cupboard. Does it has wheels on the feet?

Unless there are wire covered ventilation holes in the sides, I don't think you'e got a pie safe, but it looks like what I have seen called a "lawyer's bookcase"

Can't tell from the pictures - are the sides glass?  If so I would say china chest/cupboard.

See if there is wear on the shelves like books would leave being pushed in or pulled out.  I couldn't see any with the pictures.

I believe you have a circa 1930s china cabinet because of the “glass” in the side panels and the doors. A full frontal photo would confirm it …… but I am assuming it looks similar to this 1930s mahogany china cabinet, to wit:

Agree on the display cabinet function, but would put the date back to ca. 1880.

Just curious, would Augusta GA have any connection to the piece? (I see there is a 1208 Broad Street address there today.)

Rauville, I came across that last night, Marketplace Antiques. That label is on top of what is left of another label. I can't figure out what it says though. I am going to post some better pics in a few minutes.

Georgia...so Marketplace Antiques in Augusta makes sense. I thought that maybe Mrs.Emily's mother purchased it there because Mrs. Emily has a son-in-law that lives about 30 minutes from Augusta. And Marketplace put there label over the original label...there is only a little bit left from each label.

Looking at the later pictures I was definitely wrong about it being a lawyers bookcase. It seems odd to have a china hutch with cabinets so low to the floor. Any glass cabinet being low to the floor seems like an invitation for a childhood accident to me, LOL!

Well....it has a broken glass on one side and on the lower front...so it appears that someone's had a few accidents. Lol. I am hopefully going to move an old house within the next few months and update it some....i plan on repurposing this piece...at the moment I plan to use it in the master bath....to store towels and pretty little soaps...candles and whatever else I may come up with.😁
