Hi guys. Quick question. Does anyone know the years of operation for The Mutual Furniture Company in Miamisburg, Ohio? Thanks.

I know the company was formed in Dayton in 1920 and moved to the Miamisburg location in 1921 at an old airplane factory.  I can't find out when it stopped operations but know I have found places listing furniture made in 1938.

Thanks KC. I have a coffee table made/sold by them and I was trying to figure out what it is worth. The stamp is a little smudged, but I think it says 1931. The only thing I could find was a guy with an end table made/or sold by that company. He has his dated at 1838 and I was pretty sure that was wrong. I didn't think something from 1838 would be stamped, but was not sure.

Found a booklet,The Mutual Line Living Room Tables, Chairs, Bookcases, and Novelty Furniture: Catalog, Issue 39, dated 1939 so they were in existence at that time!

Stamping furniture didn`t start till late 1920`s  and early 30`s !!

The earliest I could find in the Furniture Worker was that they incorporated May 3 1920, with $850,000 in assets !!  They may have been in business prior to that but as a private company so likely not well known !!  Maybe 5 or 10 years earlier then took on partners and moved from Dayton to Miamisburg and expanded the company !!  At least thats the way it reads !!

His stamp looks just like the one on my table, he's reading his wrong. Anyway, I am posting pics of mine. What do y'all think I can sell it for? Hes trying to sell his for $500, but i know its not selling for that. Lol. Thanks.

These little Duncan Phyfe reproductions rarely ever sell for over $100. and only if in excellent shape then !!  The square top is better than round,, those are more common !!

Thanks Mart. I was thinking I would sell it for $50 or so. It was free...so anything will be a profit.

Put $75  or $100.  then come down if needed !!  You can always come down when selling,, can`t go up !!  Fewer square tops than round on the market !!  I once had my living room and dining room in Duncan Phyfe repro`s !!  I just liked the look of them !!

You might not have a coffee table - it could be a tea table with removable tray! (the good news)

The tea sell for $80 - $140 depending on condition!  Still very popular!  If it is the larger (34" wide) coffee table they do go for less!

KC, the widest part is 28.5 inches....so, tea table?
