Art-Nouveau-Figural-Lamp with Tulip Shades
« on: June 09, 2018, 08:14:46 pm »
I have a pair of what I believe to be vintage/antique art nouveau lamps with a cherub holding an urn, a base that is leaves, and 2 tulip shades (glass).  I am not certain of the lamp material - feels like some type of resign possibly for the cherub and leaves - the stem of the lamp is some type of metal and the shades are glass.  The lamps measure about 17" tall - the tulip shades are about 6" long by 5 1/2" wide.  The bottom of the lamp is felt covered and does have a sticker made in China.  I would appreciate your thoughts on these lamps.  I have searched the internet and can't find any like them.  There are some that are close but are spelter or bronze/brass.  Both lamps are the same - only 1 pictured.   Thank you

Can you include a photo of the plug?

Due to the colors of the shades, not to mention that sticker, I'm going with "reproduction" on this one.

Still having difficulty with these lamps - I hadn't seen this # on the lamps but I can't really read it well.  Any thoughts?  I would appreciate it - possible what the lamp is made of, etc.

Can you read what that word is ??   Is there a reason you need to know about this lamp ??  As a reproduction it will likely bring about $30. with or without knowing the word !!

Curiosity and I like to describe something accurately.  I don't know what this is a reproduction of, nor what type of metal it is.  Was just hoping you could help me a little more.  Thank you.

You might find something by searching Edouard Drouot sculptor.

Eduard Drouot sculptor, died in 1914  !!  Many of these lamps are reproductions of popular sculptors work !!  Once they are in the public domain anyone can reproduce and sell the copies !!  As to what it is made of,, turn the lamp upside down ad use a sharp nail or similar to scratch the bottom and see what it looks like under the color !!
