Looks like a planter box !!  Live plant goes in the main part and a trellis would be supported by sticking the legs into the two spaces at back !!  For climbing plants !!  Maybe late 30`s or 40`s from the legs !!

It looks to me like stainless steel with a drain in the bottom.

Given the feet on it, ……. it could be "repurposed" to be a planter.

The above pictured ……… open top rectangle shaped stainless steel container that is 10 3/8” long, est. 8” wide and 12” high, … that has been welded together at the seams, …. with two (2) est. 8” long square brackets welded to the back inside panel ……. along with a “drain” hole in the bottom panel including what looks to be two (2) 3/8” bolts w/nuts/washers …….. makes for a darn  good “planter” box that would last 2 lifetimes of rough treatment. Expensive, ….. but nice.
