Stoneware identification.
« on: July 17, 2020, 07:13:13 pm »
Hi,

I bought this 7" covered stoneware pot and can’t find anything about it.  It seems to be hand painted.  Does anyone recognize the mark on the bottom?

Thank you!
Jeanne

Sorry I can't help you.  There are so many individual stoneware makers.

It appears to be the makers mark and who know...it could be the year 1975 or the number of this style of pots.

Maybe someone else will pipe in and help out.

Independent potter,, that is likely the date 1975 !    There is no list or way to know who the potter is,,but if you post it on facebook,,someone may know  !!  maybe someones relative !!

It is a neat one !!  I would buy it !!  There has never been a registry for independent potters !!  Anyone can set up a shop in their garage ect !!
