Hi,
A friend of the family recently purchased an older home in RI and found this in the attic.
We are trying to help him identify it. Nobody has been able to yet. Not even the travelling antique road shows.
It looks like a small cannonball, yet it is made of iron, is hollow and comes with a stand. It separates into two equal halves, top and bottom and each has a V shaped compartment inside.
It comes with a stand that keeps it about and inch of the ground. It has some illegible markings on it, looks like a name.
