Baghdad Woven Silver Miniatures
« on: March 15, 2006, 09:09:43 pm »
My family as fallen into some hard times recently and my dad has sent me on a quest to find an estimated value on some artifacts.

30+ years ago, by dad was stationed in the Phillipines and he bought his mother a set of finely woven sterling silver doll minatures. The set includes:

(Sizes are Approximate, I do not want to open the case they are in and riske damaging them)

1 Bed, 2 1/2 inches long x 1 1/2 wide x 1 inch high
1 folding screen, 5 panels, 5 inches long x 2 1/2 inches high
2 foot rests 1x1 inch, 4 legs
1 round table 1 inch diamete
3 chairs 1 1/2 inches high
1 rocking chair 1 1/2 inches high
1 loveseat 1 1/2 inches high x 2 inches wide
1 piano, with raising top and stopper beg, visible keys and foot pedals
1 tea tray 3 inches in 2 1/2-3 inches in diamete
2 tea cups, 1/2 inch high with 1/2 saucers, 1 inch tall tea kettle, creamer and sugar holders

My dad says that the retail alone on the piano was $200 when he first bought it, and by the looks of it, there is very, very slight tarnish on the silver. Also, he picked it up directly from the shop that made them.

Anyone want to have a go and an approximate value and how to go about selling it?
