Blonde Bedroom Furniture
« on: September 20, 2006, 08:13:44 am »
My mother is going into a nursing home, and we are in the process of cleaning out her house. We have a Blonde colored 4 drawer chest of drawers and a dresser w/mirror. I know my mother bought them used before I was born and I am now 50. Does anyone know anything about this sort of thing?

Without looking it reads like yours is circa 1950's. The blonde finish was really popular at that time. This style of furniture is coming back but it hasn't reached a full potential yet. If your wanting to sell they could bring $200 each but it really depends on condition and maker (if known). Hardwood vs. veneer, etc. Contact someone you can trust or hopefully an antique dealer in your area. Phone calls or taking photos to them to see if they are interested.

That set could be valuable if it was made by Heywood-Wakefield...do a google search and see if it resembles HW furniture photos and also check for labels on the furniture.
