Shirley Temple and Madame Alexander/Ginny dolls
« on: June 03, 2007, 12:14:56 pm »
I purchased what looks like a 1950's "Ginny Doll"/Madame Alexander Doll" at a garage sale for $5.   She has blonde hair and blue eyes with movable lids.   She is wearing an organza long white dress and a sequened top.    Undergarments include an eyelet-trimmed slip and lace-trimmed panties.    I would like an opinion on her value and whether her clothing should be washed/cleaned.    The same seller has a Shirley Temple Doll vintage 1940's.  (?)   She is on a stand and has on a straw hat and summer dress.   She is in good condition, but, again, the clothing is dirty from dust accumulation.   Am interested in possible value and how / whether to clean clothing.  She has been offered to me for $50.    She is porcelain body has matching shoes (leather), socks.   Saw something similar on e-bay for $150, but don't know condition of clothes.   I only have two other dolls.  (1950's and hand made)   Don't know if I will retain these enchanting dolls.   Any feedback is much appreciated  :D
