I bought it for 50$ from a woman on craigslist.
The center reads


 patened jan 7 1902

F.A Porter 962

W harr sons,

Chicago, il.


I'm at lost to what to do with this instrument... I'm thinking that it might have more value being restrung... but im at lost.

I'd consider having it restrung if it's construction is strong enough to be able to keep it in tune. You'll have to decide whether or not to sell, but do not have it refinished. Restored/Repaired/cleaned etc. but not refinished,  as you will decrease the value.
