TK Thuny
« on: July 23, 2007, 12:33:33 pm »
I have a TK Thuny 12 inch serving plate with handles and detailed Gold border.
The design motif is of a large matte apple and cherries.
It is marked underneath with the stamp mark "TK Thuny" with a crown on top.
Embossed on the bottom of the serving dish is the number 12 and below that the number 1.
Can anyone tell me the history and approximate date of this serving plate?
Does anyone know its monetary value?

I would be most appreciative if someone could advise or help to guide me where I might find this information.

Sincerely
Katie Shaw

Katie,
This sounds like a valuable piece of porcelaine.
The TK Thuny mark on the reverse of your serving platter dates it as pre 1945.
The "Thun" factory used this marking from 1819. I am afraid without seeing the plate in detail, I cannot give further information.
You have not indicated what condition your platter is in.
I would be most interested in both seeing it and finding out in what condition it
remains.
Are you considering offering the serving platter for sale?

Yours faithfully
