My mom has two copper pennies they are about the size of a quarter and are dated 1836 and 1838.  We would like to know the value if there is anyone out there that can be of help it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you Bonnielu

Your mom probably has pennies called 'Large Cents". The size of the penny changed in 1856 with the 'small cent'. Depending on condition, good to fine, they would retail in a coin shop for about $10-$15 each.
