Elgin Pocket Watch -- Appraisal
« on: April 08, 2008, 04:32:11 pm »
On behalf of my mother, I am here to get a hesitant price range for a pocket watch she bought for my father in 1891.

A short back-story...she bought it from a friend for $60. At the time he told her it was ~80 years old. Since then they've learned he was slightly disreputable. He was curator for a museum here in South Dakota, by the name of the Akta Lakota Museum. Rumour is, he went to prison for forging antiques and reselling them. So, I've come here to get an anonymous opinion, and hopefully a monetary value.

Maker//Brand; Elgin
Pictures included...

Dodi, iffen there is any gold in that case, don't overlook the value of it giving what the price of gold is these days, if considering selling said watch.
