Pearson & co. whittington moor, chesterfield pottery
« on: August 25, 2008, 06:18:12 pm »
hi, just wondering if anyone can help me, i cant find anything that looks like the jar/pot that i have.
if anyone could help me with information or anything it would be appreciated.

it is a beige pottery jar/jug, with a darker brown top.
it has a stamp embedded in the back which says :

  Pearson & co.
 4(chesterfield)4
       LTd.
Whittington moor,

and on the front in black ink it has a logo (T.Saxon, Derry St. Wolverhampton,)
then underneath on the front of the jug it has written:

THIS BOTTLE IS THE PROPERTY OF
             T.SAXON
AND MUST NOT BE ILLEGALLY USED.
it must be RETURNED AT ONCE when empty:
anyone illegally using same will be prosecuted.
Oil Dealers & others must take strict notice of
           this warning
               1926

any help finding its history/value would be appreciated, it was found in the attic
of a pub in salford u.k.

thanks doog

your bottle jug was made some time after 1922.
