Need Help to Identify Mfg of Monkey Lamp
« on: November 15, 2008, 03:03:32 pm »
Can anyone identify the markings on this antique monkey lamp?  It's been in my family for over 90 years and I would like to get some information and try to determine its value.

Coachgary - Thanks for the links.

D&B Antiques - Thanks for the information.  That's quite a surprise because I never heard of such a thing.  It's always been used as a child's night light in my family.  I'm 70+ and it was my older brothers before me.  I am certainly going to keep it in the family.  Apparently the German mfg made figures for someone else who made them into fragrance lights.  I still haven't found a mfg that goes with the marking.  I must be getting senile because I never noticed the fragrance reservoir and vents in the top of one of the monkey's head.  Even if I had I would not have know what it was for.

Yep those are the vent Holes. this is a very nice lamp. I did'nt want to mention the fact these lamps were used in morgue's & funeral parlors in the 1920's &30's.
