I found this odd looking medallion in with some items my grandfather had given me and was automatically intrigued by the unique symbols on it. Having lived in Guam for several years I recognized some of the symbols as Polynesian, or from the Pacific island regions. However, some of the symbols looked Arabic or even similar to ancient Egyptian so I can honestly say I have no idea what the item is or what the symbols might mean. I took it to a few coin collectors who told me that it looked like a good luck charm of sorts but that was as far as I could get. As far as history goes I know that my grandfather brought it from overseas in the war, but that's about it.I do have a picture, but I apologize for the poor quality since I had a hard time getting all of the symbols clearly. I would appreciate any help I could get with this!
