Oak Sideboard "sold"
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:09:56 am »
I have been looking for a sideboard (e-bay) for about a year.  I found this on craigslist, and made a commitment for purchase in 2 weeks.  I don't know how to post the picture, but put in the link.  If you have time, please let me know what you think.  I would greatly appreciate your response.

I would'nt complain about the price. except most of us want cheaper. it's White oak. typically known as tiger oak. the golden color is achieved by applying Shellac or varnish.

Which in turn is commonly Known as Golden oak. I don't see any veneer. which is very good.

I also think this is a nice find!  Price is good as well for a piece in good condition!

Yes, a beautiful piece. I love the old oak pieces. I once bought a tall sideboard, 20 years ago, similar to that one, w/mirror at top, full width drawer and 2 doors below extending to the bottom skirt at the floor (per say solid front.) I figured on making a few bucks so I cleaned it up all spiffy n’ shiny …… and the wife took one look at it and said, … “I got just the place for that”. And that is where it has been sitting all these years since then. Maybe I’ll take its picture. Cheers
