That gives me a better understanding thanks, I did look into bulbs of that era, that would be about the time bulbs was taking on the look of what we know of as a bulb, looks like it may of required and skinny bulb, or would a modern bulb fit it?  You also mention it not being metal.  I am a bit more curious about this too, cermanic? maybe.  The item that is a shade what is that made of? it would have to be transulent to let the shine out per say.  You have me and the lady on the edge of our seat  :o, like a good ole movie   ;D

That shade is either fiberglass or maybe mica would be my guess.  If really old I would say it was mica, which make me even more curious.  Yea DB sometimes all this thinking makes my head hurt  :P.  Again not my field so take this a grain of mica  ;D  So the light that did come through would be very weak like a nite light, which would make since they are kinda made to look like a pair of candle sticks.  All this makes me want to wake the others up, cause this will be all that is in my head tonight  ;D,  I have to go for now, can't wait to see the responses tomorrow.  Gosh my brain hurts   :o

OOPS, I shuda posted here, ... see other post about these lamps.

Right you are (I think), Ironlord, the globes would be mica which is normally translucent or opaque. But it appears Old Man Time has turned those 2 dark. Mica is a mineral and very brittle .... and my guess is they could be cleaned ...... but don't take my word for it.

Starting Price Ebay.  Not sure these will fair well on Ebay.  First you have a value from DB of $250.00 with shades,  I assume that means you are missing a very important part.  At first I thought the mica tubes was the shade, but sounds likes they are missing, If I understand DB's Post.  He then quotes 150.00 with shades.  Now these prices are usually raw value, meaning under the right set of situations you will sell for that.  E-bay usually yields about half the value is see and hear on various items.  However the condition has to be really good also, your piece have some major wear.  In my personal opinion if you post bid style, you have a 50% chance at around $35.00, second round chance $20.00 with maybe 60% chance.  This is just my opinion, mostly from I have shelves with stuff that I thought would sell, but still await.
