Can you take a pic of the marks on the underside?  Dimensions of piece?  IS that a dragon or horse etched on the front?

Bet it will be a nut or candy dish.....

If it's indeed 'sterling' and not silver plate, I'd find a different 'estate lady'.

The piece is about 7-1/2" tall and 8" wide at the top. The etching looks like a dragon. The handles are lions heads. Will try to send picture of the marks on the bottom. They are from the Friedman Silver Co. There are two of them. They might be ice buckets.

These marks are those of Friedman Silver Company, Founded 1908, acquired by Gorham in 1960, Brooklyn, NY USA.  This are the marks used on Sterling. and on their Silver Plated items.  Not all of their silver plated items designated the EPNS coding which it should have.

My first reaction, without holding and seeing up close was plated.....

Probably wine holders/ice holders.

The compan who made them is a reputable company.  The pic you posted (if they look the same all the way around, no nicks, dents, etc)  I would value at $28 - $35 each.
