Boar stirrup cups, silver

Can anyone tell me more about these cups that my dad has just got from an auction.  I guess they were made in spain and silver.  Thanks  Jon

Are there any marks on them?  What makes you think Spain?

Interestingly, stirrup cups were Scottish in origin for a drink given to a guest leaving on horseback.  But typically became more ornate silver cups made to drink while on horseback....prior to a hunt commencing.  More typically found with English fox head, horse head, lion etc.    Great info on stirrup cups   http://everything2.com/title/stirrup%2520cup
