strange looking table

Can anyone help me identify this table I picked up at a flea market. I have searched the internet and found nothing like it.

It looks like it is made of bamboo, …. is it?

Does it fold up?

Have seen some of these that fold up for extra table space - see them in markets where wares are sold as well.
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Looks sorta like a cocktail tray table in bamboo , to me .

No idea of maker , though .

the metal support rod would indicate 1950's or later.
