As a general rule all silver is marked for it's content, As always they could be made from a silversmith that was rogue per say, or maybe just a craftsman.
I'm not sure by looking at the case that goes with them they would be either of these, I have not seen hallmarks like this either. I do remember something about germany having something like a 800/1000 standard, but I have to go find that again. However these are usually maked 800. Silverplate had different rules of hallmark they are very loose, but even here most are very marked as tradition and pride. Personnal if it is not marked sterling the silverplate rule takes place, unless you which to damage the item trying to find out. I also note and just may be the lighting but the engraving look like a different shade then the silver, much like the engraving is exposing nickle silver, therefore making then plate. I have looked around a bit and will look a bit more, but we need to establish the marks to go further into this endeavor. Remember I first rule to any item is it's looks and uniqueness, These are very nice items and as a set and with the case I would say the items are worth a bit just based on this, I would proudly have these hanging on my wall with my other friends
