Please identify: Metal Monkeys Candleholders

I am seeking information regarding these metalwork monkeys candleholders. I know virtually nothing about it except the base appears to be some type of metal and the monkeys may be bronze. It is quite large and heavy – 29” length x 22” ht and weighing 44 lbs. My photos do not do it justice as monkeys are quite detailed. Candleholder cups are ceramic. I can find no signature, although it may be covered by the patination (??). I would certainly appreciate any information regarding age, value, or what is it?

I think you have what is known as a "Monkey Menorah" .
It is actually of a type known as a "Chanukkiah" , due to the 9 candles it holds .

I should add - this is used for Chanukah ( Jewish celebration) , in case you didn't know .

Thanks for guessing some type of menorah, but there are actually 10 candleholders - one monkey only has the torch as the ceramic cup is missing. Any other thoughts??

I like it too, and there are not too many monkey lamps that I would put in my house! Perhaps if not a Menorah it is simply a monkey candelabra?

I was thinking when I read this that I have never heard of nor seen a monkey Menorah.  Have many Jewish friends with humor...but this tradition isn't usually one to bring monkeys into.

Personally I believe it is for decor.  Monkey textiles and decor objects have been back on the rise over the past 7 years (trends always come back in...bell bottom pants prove it).  I really like it.  Very amusing and a great conversation piece!

Thanks to all who keep replying - it is a unique and entertaining object, and most likely decorative, but I am hoping to determine age, artist, value, etc. If anyone can suggest where I might email photos to get an expert opinion, that would be appreciated.

P.S. We hear the monkeys running around the house at night, but as long as they don't strangle the cats, we are not worrying.....

I'll believe in my majical delusion & say the 'empty' monkey paw is for a match .

There's lots of 'novelty' menorahs around , but I'd have to say this one takes the cake ....

maybe it's a crow-cooker ?
