It's supposed to be and ash tray. I bet that red oxide paint has some lead content. early 40's believe it or not these average up to $65.00 Dollars.

I'm afraid to say, I list that stuff on eBay. I only keep the nicest of items to sell other places.

Agree...unless you have a local flea market that you can go and set up shop....ebay.

Like D&b said...this is an ash tray...the big hint was "ashes" :)
