Not to toss water on your fire , lux ...
I collected jadeite for about 15 years ( I still keep an eye out for it ) , and have seen alot of things kinda like what you've posted .... these days , a yard sale could qualify as an 'estate sale' ... I'm just saying that I think it pays to be a skeptic , when buying jade .
Many current items on the market today are heavily 'treated' with polymers , dyes & etc. and can be a disappointment to buyers , even to those "in the know" .
I'm not saying that those bowls are not attractive ... they just may not be what you think they are .
You may already know , but I'll state that there's two main minerals that are sold as 'jade' , similar in some ways , but chemically different :
Jadeite - a silicate of magnesium & calcium.
Nephrite - a silicate of aluminum & calcium .
I'd suggest a fine source of information about jadeite at : ruby-sapphire.com/jade_burma_part_2_.htm , for starters .
Nothing wrong with collecting both types , or just one type ...but I think (in my case) it's good to know about what a person is getting into , esp. when actual/resale value is a main concern .
