Dressing table
« on: August 05, 2009, 11:08:27 pm »
The dressing table is old. I'm not sure the age. It was my Mother's. I am a novice with furniture and will need to firstly strip old varnish off etc. Could someone send me information about how to carry out this task, as it is more a labour of love and the dressing table needs much attention.

Thank you

Also restoring should be a last resort. All the bumps, age, scuffs and patina are venerable signs of its history and its what makes an antique beautiful in many ways! (Now if only the general public would think of us girls the same way!!)

It's also called character!  I have lots of it!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!
