Duck Head Rocker

My mother gave me a "Ducks Head Rocker" that belonged to her mother.  It's about 80-100 yrs old.  It does not fit into our decor so I wanted to sell it but have no idea of its worth if any.  I have enclosed two pics.  The piece itself is in solid condition.  Thanks for your experience and time.

Antique rockers seem to be going for $free to $250 on Craigslist and there are tons of them on any given day, so there is a lot of variation in the prices. The ones on the higher end don't seem to sell. Retail they can go higher though. I'm not an expert, but yours is VERY cute with a lot of personality and a known provenance. Also I think those are swans. I'm gonna say $100-ish, maybe $150 on a good day, but someone here please confirm or correct me.

I best make a correction. the powers that be will never let me live it down. to be correct. the rocker is called a Goose Neck. strange resemblance to a swan.

These really caught my attention, I'm seeing two of them on our local Craigslist. Both are a platform version of the rocker.

The first, I think it is probably over-priced at $385, apparently from the 30's.

I thought you guys might be interested in seeing this goose-neck rocker that came up on our local Craigslist today. It is in the same style as the one posted by Scramble, but it is flatter, not as nicely rounded. It says "Early American" I wonder if it really is earlier?

I think the seller was saying the chair was recently reupholstered. I was thinking more along the differences between Scramble's chair and the Craigslist one, wondering if the flat-sided gooseneck frame on Craigslist was an older style than Scramble's or if the Craigslist chair was a less-well-made one?

Don't know but if I was to guess, Craiglist one is Less, Some reason didn't like the uplostery on that craiglist one,  , Kinda a shock to the eye.  But I really like Scramble's chair.

I like Scramble's chair a lot too. I think the choice of upholstry really works well with the wood. It's funny, with the right upholstry, that chair really takes on a different look. What I like about Scrambles chair is that it has a look to it that I think might even work with Chinese decor. Those geese remind me of the Chinese buckets with the same type of heads. I love rocking chairs, but my living room is rustic Chinese antiques. I keep looking at the chair thinking- Ya know it almost works... !!!
