Candy dish ?

This candy dish was given to my wife by her mother.It has no marking,I found one on ebay for $40.00,we were wondering about how old it was,and if it was worth that much.

Agree with D&b....Generally are made of pressed glass (is there a seam) and these do not run that high!  Can pick up for $12 - $20 at local resale/antiquity shops (whether pressed or not).

There were many, many sizes and designs of “hen on nest” made by different companies. And like most glassware: type, color, rarity, manufacturer and # of collectors determine the value.

I just had the wife take a picture of these two from my collectibles that are “marked” with the Westmorland Glass logo.

    I have two now both we picked up really cheap Under 5 bucks,   However They may not wrought a high price they have  a fair numbers of collectors.  The color here is the most important factor with these, Milk and Amber are pretty common place, Cranberry, Ruby, and Colbalt Fair on top.  Which is the case with most glassware. Bottom on the list of glassware is Clear usually, However I've never seen a clear one yet, I would maybe sniff around that angle a bit.  Not sure what you will find.

Thanks for all the replies,the dish belongs to my wife,my son really likes the dish,and said he would like to have it,so my wife give it to him.If it was valued at $2 or $200 he would not part with it.
