Mediterranean Sword
« on: September 05, 2009, 06:29:47 pm »
I don't know much about this sword, but I was told it's from the Mediterranean region. The sheath seems to be made of a type of felt cloth. Part of the hilt covers an engraving that looks like "yelle" in a cursive type of writing. Can anyone help identify this item and maybe estimate a value?

Middle Eastern Tulwar type sword, probably for the tourist trade, they did make functional blades like that but seldom with that type scabbard, how well made is the blade, they made excellent blades for combat, damascus steel,,,which is where it got its name.
