DECANTER WHAT PART OF ITALY ???

MY FATHER IN LAW BROUGHT THIS DECANTER BACK WHEN HE WAS IN ITALY DURING WW2 NO MARKINGS HAND BLOWN HAS 4 LITTLE GLASSES WITH IT WITH SILVER DESIGNS GOING ALL THROUGH IT . I TOOK IT TO A DEALER 15 YRS AGO AND HE SAID HE WOULD GIVE ME 50 BUCKS FOR IT AS YOU CAN SEE I SAID NO THANKS I HAVE TRIED LOOKING BUT NO LUCK CAN YOU HELP ME can someone guess where abouts in italy this must have been from

Very pretty set.  If no chips or cracks or repairs, you were smart to keep it.  You might want to take one of the glasses to a jeweler and have it checked for gold in the design.  I'm sure it came from a prominate family and being hand blown, could be one of a kind.  Interesting to see what the others say.

This style was extremely popular in the 1940's!  Take railman's well given advice and have it checked out!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!
