Mandalian mfg co purses

Just found my Mandalain mfg co purses ( had given up searching I thought they were lost) thought I would share!! Also have some Whiting & Davis purses will post photos of those if anyone is interested. Its like Christmas!!!!

Very nice.

Every now and then when these can be seen, I have to marvel at this type of awesome fashion and think about women with long cigarette holders swinging to the Charleston.

These items have to be when fashion was at it's peak IMO.

Any chance you could show some close ups of the detailing on the decorative metal hardware?

Your examples seem to be in very good condition compared to others I've come across.

Ever use one of them and what kind of response did you receive if so?

Amazing the size of these old ones compared to today's which appear more like a duffel bag.

  Thanks all,  Tales they date from 1915-1943  1944 the company along with all machinery was sold to Whiting & Davis.  Dean I have used them to go to parties & weddings  they are often  the topic of conversation that always ends in where can I get one!!  As far as condition when they are not being used they are kept wrapped in my bedroom as they are metal and will be effected by dampness.  Here are the close ups of the  purse frames.

So cool to see these in such nice shape.
They look to be beautiful and fragile and it's amazing they have survived so well.

Thanks for these close ups and as imagined the closer the view the better it gets.
I wonder if the 1st & 3rd example's hardware is silver plated?

Great sense of history just viewing these things.Thanks

 I am located close to Attelboro, Ma. where the company was and my mother  had them for as long as I can remember. I can not say if she purchased them at auction or where as she collected everything but I continute to care for them as carefully as she did. I do not know if 1&3 are silver plated but the inside of the frames are not tarnished like the outside(not sure if that helps) and they have never been cleaned in any way.

Awesome that you share your mom's passion for preserving these things so well.
How many beautiful antiques and pieces of history get damaged or ruined by the neglect of non caring owners.
